Girls often participate in a catholic mass and then celebrate with food, music, and dancing. Young 15 year old latina girls celebrate their birthday with a la quinceanera. There parties can be bigger the weddings with music, food and dancing. The music spans a wide variety of styles and is not exclusive to this one occasion. Salsa as well as popular latin american and caribbean musical styles are common.
