Beginning of 21st century, expanded area of interest things they were working upon and decided to change the name of what they were doing the name ultimately chose was digital humanities . Multi media is people doing creative things in a highly technologically convergent workspace. Technological convergence: situation where different types of work are being done in the same location with the same technology. Example; computers have sucked all what used to be human work into one tool. Word from the visual arts; refers to artists making things by combining different media still in the end a form of visual art. Has in common that there being different media types combined in some way. Difference is that its specific focus on that art gallery context. Presupposes that there is such a thing as old media. Stored or transmitted via vinery code helps define what is really new about the media types that we are surrounded with.
