A social robot is an autonomous robot that interacts and communicates with humans or other autonomous physical agents by following social behaviours and rules attached to its role. Bio-art represents a crossover of art and the biological sciences, with living mattter, such as genes, cells or animals, as its new media. Bio-art signals a transition from the production of art objects to the creation of living entities . Refers to a type of being that has both organic and mechanical parts. Early bio-art: the mutated delphinium owers by edward steichen (1936) and the germ paintings of alexander fleming (1933) were judged on aesthetic quality. Recent bio-art is often controversial and has been seen as: an artful form of eugenics or bio antics as pawns for the bio-tech industries. Need to get out from under the sensationalism and ask more complex questions about the rami cations of manipulating life as an art practice.
