Cells have something go wrong in their cell cycle, causing them to be uncontrollable. Is a process of specialization (going from unspecialized to specialized) Begin with a stem cell (less specialized) that actively changes into other types of cells according to the function they perform. Cells are specialized according to the function they perform. New cells acquire structure & function of the cells that they replace. Ie. stem cell bc it does not specialized function. Going from a specialized cell to an unspecialized cells (rbc to stem cell) Loss of differentiation increases the amounts of replications that are occurring causing uncontrollable cells. Neoplasm or tumour is a cellular growth that is uncoordinated & lacks the normal regulatory controls over cell growth & division. Don"t grow & divide as they are supposed to.
