Communication occurs when a specialized signal from one individual influences the behaviour of. Only food available was at a feeding station 200 m e from the hive and had a sucrose solution. Bees were marked with small numbered tags on their backs. Alarm calls a unique vocalization produced by social animals when a predator is nearby.
