Important in the way we behave and behavior is a trait: ex. Bumble bee foraging behaviour in the wild or lab. Large round goby parental male (engage in parental behaviour establishes a territory, guards the space so no other male takes over, attracts females to the territory (females inspect quality of territory) then she deposits eggs in it. Adaptation a trait that enhances fitness: an evolutionary process that results in a population of individuals with traits best suited to the current environment. Fitness survivorship & reproduction: how to measure fitness, typically figure out who is surviving sneakers are surviving (with low f but they"re there(cid:895) therefore they"re fit. Look at # of (cid:373)ati(cid:374)g"s occurring (eggs sneakers are fertilizing: count # of offspring, these 3 are the best but harder to measure. 1: other things body size, growth rate, feeding efficiency, sometimes relevant but not always.
