Work has been changing, family life changing. Within middle and upper-class families the pressure on peoples work day becomes harder and harder for families to be home taking care of children. Especially for women who face double burden, and increased pressure to be the breadwinners. Care deficits not enough time, energy to provide for all the care needs of children. Pressure on women to not sacrifice their time with their children to work/give up work for their children. Over the last 20-30 years there"s been a huge global expansion of care through domestic care (live in nannies) So much of this care-deficit is being made up of people who are for hire, and precarious (need workers to be cheap, reliable, and captive)
