Because of labour shortages women moved into other roles they had not been in before doing harder, industrial labour (element of skill) During war to motivate them to get involved in the fight; speaks to women and encourages them to play their part by doing more industrial work. Very rare you see propaganda for women to go out and fight. Do the job he left behind do your husband"s job temporarily while he"s off at war fill in and do these jobs. How women are still seen in society; most important thing they should be doing primary responsibility as a woman was to take care of the household. Early on in the war, women do the food processing (vast expansion during the war) Later on in the war, they do lighter manufacturing (garment working) Women go into heavier industries as the war goes on: building big ships; welding.
