Document Summary
Self-conidence is a moivator: cogniive (i believe) and afecive (feelings of conidence) Self-conidence = focal construct in numerous theories of moivated behavior. Self-conidence: trait, disposiion, personality, a way of thinking about oneself that can be controlled, requires systemaic training and regulaion tools. Opimism: tendency to expect the best possible outcome or dwell on the most hopeful aspects of a situaion. Self-eicacy: a belief in one"s capabiliies to achieve speciic outcomes. The most consistent diference between successful and less successful athletes is that successful athletes profess greater and more resilient self-conidence. Only posiive feedback can build conidence: negaive can also be efecive. Methods of insilling self-eicacy: performance successes, live/self modelling, mgm imagery, encouragement, self-talk, relaxaion, energizaion, emoion regulaion. Source of self-eicacy: mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, imaged experience, verbal persuasion, physiological arousal, emoional states. The informaion provided by these determinants is only relevant inasmuch as it is atended to and subsequently processed by the individual.
