Punishment decrease behaviour and does not increase pa: don"t use exercise as something they have to do if they don"t complete x amount of work otherwise you make exercise a negative consequence. With extinction, help an individual identify what he/she enjoys about exercise: important to focus on intrinsic factors like enjoyment to help them continue to be active.
