Autism spectrum disorder= pervasive development disorder: severe, chronic developmental disability occurring before 3 years of age. Diagnostic criteria: a: deficits in social communication and interaction in many contexts= defects in : Social-emotional reciprocity, nonverbal communicative behaviours, developing, maintaining and understanding relationships.
