Document Summary

The bones that make up the upper limb and attach them to the axial skeleton. Region where the arm bone articulates with a joint formed by our shoulder. Scapula and the clavicle make up the girdle. Clavicle is on the anterior part of our body. The clavicle attaches to the axial skeleton at the manubrium. The only joint attaching your upper limb to the axial skeleton. Everything else is held in place by ligaments and muscle. Clavicle articulates medially with the sternum at the sternoclavicular joint. Articulates laterally with the scapula at the acromioclavicular joint. Upper limb is attached to the pectoral girdle at the glenohumeral joint. On the lateral side there is a pocket that creates the glenoid cavity. The head of the humerus sits here and it forms a ball and socket joint. Where the acromioclavicular joint, that"s where you join the clavicle. Anterior side has no spine so there"s one big fossa called subscapular fossa.
