Neglected children are more likely to commit suicide than other children. Need to have been exposed to the drug in order to become a drug addict. People with a genetic predisposition doesn"t necessarily mean they will become a drug addict. Things are always a combination of nature and nurture. Mz twin brothers of an alcoholic father experiment with binge drinking in college. One becomes an alcoholic whereas one does not. Mz twins same genetic code so their difference is unlikely genetic, most likely nurture. Nature or nurture is assuming they"re opposite and independent but they are not independent. Recall maternal care behaviours programs adult stress responses in rats. Mother"s upbringing influences child"s stress response as adults. Bad mothers neglecting children and don"t lick them, pups have a higher stress response. Base on fostering study, the environment that determined their stress response regardless of their genetics. A true dichotomy splits things into two exclusive, non-overlapping categories.
