KINESIOL 2A03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Spinal Cord, Grey Matter, Decision Points
Document Summary
Spinal cord (butterfly like shape) has white matter outside, gray inside that is formed into an h shape. Pic is a cross section of the spinal cord. Spinal cord at the bottom tells us it"s a posterior view. **be able to determine which view you are viewing on an anatomical system. Brain: part of the cns contained in cranial cavity (part of the skull that has the cranium/cranium case/ back part of skill) Facial bones at the front, on the back we have 8 bones that make up the cranial/cranial case. Brain is located here bc it needs a good protective layer: made up of 4 main regions. One that is connected to the spinal cord. Relay btw the spinal cord and the cerebrum. Main job is to connect spinal cord to brain (bring axons that are part of the spinal cord, up towards the brain so it can have synapses with other parts of the brain)
