Response of digestive system to expel some irritating content. Opening of the larynx has to be closed. Opening of the nasopharynx has to be closed. Seems short in the image but it start somewhere within the coil as it is quite long. The accessory organs secrete into the small intestine. Most of the food we eat is being digested and absorbed in the small intestine. It"s long because you want enough time to absorb all the food. Major - bigger - more important role - has two major ducts from the liver and pancreas attached. Ducts (green) - opens up at the papilla. Circular folds - mucosa and submucosa folded in a perpendicular to the actual fold. All folds are covered in villi - finger-like projections from the epithelium - these are covered in microvilli. Looks like a hill and then small little villi on tope of the hill (circular fold)
