Infundibulum: white matter and connective tissue: link between the nervous and endocrine system, many clusters of nuclei that control bodily functions, mood and emotion, more than 12 nuclei involved in homeostasis, controls heart rate, digestion, respiratory, hunger, thirst, sex drive, impulses from one nucleus can affect others, why emotions can be connected to things such as huger etc. Cranial nerves: (pns, cell bodies/roots that originate in the brain, nerve xi in spinal cord ad brainstem, arise directly from brain, one pair arises from cerebrum (i) and one from diencephalon (ii, nine pairs arise from brainstem, one pair from spinal cord (xi, 12 pairs of cranial nerves, numbered from anterior to posterior (except xi and xii, they are reversed, may have 1 or more functions, sensory (temp, visual, balance, pain etc, motor skeletal ( transmits signals to muscles, motor parasymphatetic (smooth, cardiac muscle and glands, nerves that originate in the brain as opposed to spinal nerves, mnemonics:
