Oral tradition and knowledge: if you did not partake in reading or writing, you would be considered illiterate, in south america, there becomes a violent relationship between the differences in communication, indigenous people are considered subhuman. Many indigenous think of time as cyclical(past, present and future) and that knowledge can be reached through dreams or ceremonies: place. Place speaks more towards who we are as indigenous people, marking a really signi cant place. Very much tied to how knowledge is produced: character. Good and bad are not necessarily viewed the same way in the indigenous world. Different elements of the earth are characters: event.
