43 views12 pages

Document Summary

Innervated by dorsal branches of mixed spinal nerves. Lateral bending of the spine by flexors and extensors by contraction of both muscle groups on the same side. Rectus abdominus (aponeurosis of lateral muscles superficial to actual muscle) External oblique lateral to rectus abdominus (run downwards and medially) Obliques and transversus abdominus fuse into aponeurosis then splits and envelops rectus muscle in a sheath. Muscles are oriented at 90 degree angle to increase strength. Segmental innervation of muscle and skin by ventral rami of mixed spinal nerves. Start medially, go up and laterally to attach to transverse processes or extensions to skull or ribs or extensions to skull or ribs. Arising from transverse processes of vertebrae and attach to spinous processes. Mixed spinal nerve gives off dorsal ramus innervating intrinsic back muscles. Segmental innervation of muscle and skin by dorsal rami of mixed spinal nerves. Body of vertebrae (spongy bone), most amount of hemopiatic tissue where blood comes from.
