Script docs : doctor who easily gives out prescription, some may purchase from dealers but most common suppliers are family, friends, and physicians. The opioid crisis: deaths from rx opioids surpass heroin & cocaine combined, rx opioid use has risen sharply since 2000. Hillbilly heroin: ohio valley and appalachia hardest hit, prescription rates 5 times harder national average, structural issues, boredom, economic, distress, few other street drugs, because of medicaid and medicare, rx partially covered. Selling rx to top up pensions, fill gaps in welfare state: regional histories of drug distribution.
