Gender and sexuality: gender is something one does and sex is something that one has, hegemonic masculinity, emphasized femininity, facilitate patriarchy, multiple masculinities and feminities dominant forms of subordinate expressions. Heterosexuality is held as superior to inferior sexualities. Men are less likely to report specific types of mental health problems. Men with intimate partners and more likely to report. Diagnostics and treatment: women less likely to receive advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Women are less likely than men to be taken seriously. Physicians are less likely to take women"s concerns as serious compared to men. Female roles, more stifling, less socially rewarding: case study: supermoms. Intensive mother ideologies have negative effects on women"s health.
