Alzheimers, kurt (son) moved in to care for her. She phases in and phases out, sometimes impossible and sometimes has comments that she acts like she used to. Living on his savings and her pension. Toughest part is nding a minute to yourself, when calls cannot tell whats wrong (have to check and nd out whats wrong, get up 3-4 times in night) Suffered stroke, impaired her speech and left unable to walk. Madeline took early retirement to care for mother. Disappearing of someone you love , miss chats. Very draining and hard, have great sympathy for caregivers (sometimes want a break) Frustration because can"t get through, mom calls her all different names. Tom had stroke, cannot walk or speak, has hepatitis c. Live in mobile home on daughter"s farm. Wish he went before her, just so she would know he was looked after right. Can"t be by himself for more than an hour.
