HLTHAGE 1AA3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Socialized Medicine, Evidence-Based Medicine, Chocolate Cake
Document Summary
If we weren"t multicultural, some people feel that they are better than others, the rich people would look down to the poor which still happens today. In many countries, there would be a lot of discrimination, prejudice, and there are no laws in place to hold people accountable. This is when we concern ourselves with who gets what, when, where and how. Under socialized medicine, everyone gets it all the time. We see under socialized medicine, everyone is equal. We see that when we look at moral relativity and equity in terms of distribution, there can be conflict when some look at the fact that is someone more worthy than someone else. Stone tries to say that if you have a chocolate cake and a group of people, you take that cake and equally distribute it to everyone. Socialized medicine is where everyone is treated equally.
