There was a political revolution to establish a new country, but there was a war to fight for independence. The (cid:373)ajority of the i(cid:374)dige(cid:374)ous people did (cid:374)ot fight i(cid:374) the 7 years" war, a(cid:374)d therefore did (cid:374)ot recognize the peace treaty and did not want to give up their land. The indian peoples wanted to recreate the political network that the french had established before, as they benefitted greatly from this. There was also a new philosophical and spiritual doctrine among the indians brought by neolin, an. Indigenous prophet, who wanted the natives to go back to their roots and blamed the english for their situation. The indian land was one of the main reasons why the american revolution took place, the patriots wanted to go west and take over the indian land, while the british loyalists wanted peace with the natives.
