Set of attitudes, values, beliefs, and behaviours shared by a group of people communicated from one generation to the next (matsumoto, 1996) Not new - worlds cultures always shaped one another. Follows economy; technology has increased intensity today. Intensified significantly since end of cold war in1989. Erodes local traditions and eliminates diversity and richness. Driven largely by deliberate manipulations of mnc"s (multi-national corp?) Eg. not just due to cynical exploitation/cultural imperialism.
