Recall: regionalization => identifying generalize patterns (i. e. physical landforms, climate, etc. ) What are winters generally like here: relatively cold i. e. compared to florida. What kind of weather would you expect in florida in the summer/winter: super hot, fairly warm in the winter. Local, day-to-day conditions in terms of precipitation and temperature. Us climate: seasonal patterns: summer = hottest and wettest, winter = coldest and driest (west coast is opposite) with respects to precipitation. Weather systems generally move west-east though some cycle from the south/southeast. Climate regions: factors affecting climate: latitude: distance north (or south) of the equator. Less solar energy (heat) is received in areas where the sun is not directly overhead: more solar energy is received closer to the equator. The orientation of the earth"s surface, relative to the sun, influences the level of solar radiation.
