Document Summary
Poverty results from the internal pathology of deviant groups, that is, poverty is the result, the failures of the poor themselves. This is like blaming the victim, so to what extent are those who are poor themselves responsible for there outcome: cycles of poverty. Poverty results from individual inadequacies, often transmitted through generations. Many people come from the bottom and become very successful people: institutional malfunctioning. Poverty is rooted in the failure of the state to provide aid to those in need. Over time it could be easier to blame the state. Government has to help people incapable of helping themselves, but to what extent: unequal distribution of resources. Poverty is treated as a logical outcome of capitalism. However, resources and wealth could be redistributed if the political willpower existed.
