Volta- where there is a little turn in the poem (5th line usually) * music is carrying on the love-sonnet tradition* This love-sonnet can be thought of as an offering. But his love for god will be immortal. He still loves his mistress even though she isn"t perfect. Knocking down the conventions is the guarantee of his sincerity.
