Her sister josephine learns from richards that her husband"s name. Ms. mallard cries and misses her husband and she is excited that she can (brentley mallard) was on a casualty list for a railroad accident now live for her own. Ironically she goes downstairs and mr. mallard walks in the door and she dies. The hour shows how short and quickly something can change. Beginning- finds out about husbands death (an ending to begin) Middle- sitting in an arm- chair (life is paused and pondered) End- irony (what we thought ended actually began and what we thought began actually ended) Front door divider to the new beginning and bedroom door to her thoughts and social of the house. Mr. mallard also becomes a barrier in the end for ms. mallard and the outside world. These settings show the safety of the house and the how the news from outside can affect the ones inside greatly.
