Globalization is a concept that has been used with greater and greater frequency. Implies that the world is becoming smaller and more connected/networked. The concept of globalization arises/is discussed in many contexts. Globalization is often a disguise for what is really happening in politics. Globalization means that we have to , globalization stopped . The term globalization seems to suggest to us that we are living at an historically unique moment. Free trade zones (maquiladoras) are supposed to be tax-free for their workers since they"re separate from the country"s federal government. Companies tax them anyway for their own purposes and profits. Corporations are constantly seeking and finding cheaper and cheaper labour. Seeing sweatshop labour as beneficial (allowing people to work, etc. ) is wrong. They also lend at low-interest loans (eg. planes to foreign countries) Some companies (eg. disney) are spreading across the media. They own record labels, publishing houses, magazines, tv stations, etc.
