Significance: atticus is addressing that although mr. cunningham was a part of the mob. Threatening to kill himself and tom robinson, mr. cunningham is still a man, a father, a husband. Whether that man is atticus or mr. cunningham. Every man has moral; these men don"t have the same morals as atticus, who pertains to principles or rules of the right conduct. That doesn"t mean that the other men don"t consider the distinction between right and wrong; ethical scouts innocent mention of mr. cunningham"s child interfered with the situation, causing mr. Cunningham think twice, recollect and re-evaluate his actions: speaker: atticus. Significance: atticus is discussing the lynch mob at the jail and scouts ability to disperse it. Those men are acting in a brash and inhumane manner but that doesn"t change the fact that each one of those men are still human.
