Document Summary
The fallout from the tim hortons troubles. Poor motivation and morale among employees and franchises. Bad publicity regarding product quality and safety. Two basic sources of pressure to change: External sources: environmental changes must be matched by organizational changes. Internal sources: change can also be provoked by forces in the internal environment. Some use threat as a motivator for change. Organizations must stabilize their inputs and outputs. Organizations in a dynamic environment must change more than those in a stable environment. Change in and of itself is not a good thing, and organizations can exhibit too much change. Refreezing is temporary or not applicable for hyperturbulent environments where change is constant, unpredictable, and nonlinear. These organizations face special challenges that require them to be constantly acquiring, assimilating, and disseminating information. Organizational learning refers to the process through which an organization does three things to knowledge throughout the organization. Ol occurs when organizational members interact and share experiences and knowledge.
