Agamemnon, king of argos when this play was written, mycenae was nothing so argos was used instead. Has just come home from the 10 year war. She has been managing affairs while he was away. Has an affair and makes a pact with aeg. Cassandra, daughter of priam, now a slave. Power of prophesy but no one ever listened to her. Clytemnestra and argos await arrival of agamemnon, returning victorious from troy. Cassandra sees her fate, that of agamemnon. She tries to tell the citizens that murder is being plotted. Action is not the concern in this play more the dialogue (what has happened, what happens, and what will happen) Whenever anyone hurts her with lying slander, she sits beside her father, zeus the son of cronos, and tells him of men"s wicked heart . Justice outruns outrage when she comes at length to the end of the race for oath keeps pace with wrong judgements .
