Story of romulus and remus and their unfortunate birth. Priestess is pregnant, husband was ousted- uncle takes over. Wants to make sure the kids never surpass the uncle so he makes her a vessel virgin (unable to have kids) Mars (ares) is the father claims silvia (priestess) After giving birth, had to find a way to take care of them. Tiber is overflowing and romulus and remus are flowing down it. But romans didn"t want that to be the way the story was so they said a she-wolf raised the kids. Rom and rem were being like robin hood, then found out they were royalty and put their uncle in his place. Romulus killed remus (they were both building competing cities in would- be rome) Remus was dancing on romulus" walls so he was killed. Livy was trying to make the point that rome was killed on brother killing brother. Romulus said they couldn"t reproduce because they didn"t have wives.
