The conquering of persia was supposed to be a revenge trip, to rule over the people and not sharing the power like alexander was trying to establish. Extraction of product of indigenous peasantry: the kings took over the previous government of economic control and intensified the products they took from the native population, there was little attempt to fit in with native cultures.
