After this he goes off into retirement and drinks himself to death in 2 years. On the one hand there seems to be attempts to bring balance. He recognizes problems and tries to fix them but all of his actions are an attempt to go back to the good old days when the senate had all the prestige. Tries to stuff the genie back in the bottle that the gracchi let out.
