The final acts of brutality: melanthius: mutilated. Nose, ears, genitals, hands and feet cut off: slave girls: telemachus calls the shots. Odysseus calls for a death by sword. One by one: disloyal slaves are worse than the suitors. Eurycleia and cunning penelope : denies that odysseus killed the suitors. She was asleep the entire time: believes that a god killed them. Telemachus and the false sense of order: he"s pissed off that his mom isn"t running to odysseus, odysseus is not surprised. The party: a front to make the people of ithaca to think that the suitors are still alive. Penelope"s test: the bed: penelope tells eurycleia to move the bed into the hall, odysseus is pissed. Odysseus made the bed with the post of a tree grown into the house. Athena prolongs the night: odysseus tells his stories, so does penelope, all the lies he told, finally reunited, want to know everything.
