When adding vectors, we need to arrange them in a tip-to-tail fashion. The vectors need to be drawn to scale: Alice walks 5km [e] then turns around and walks 7km[w]. A car is being pulled out of a ditch by two tractors. The first tractor pulls with a force of 1850n [f] and the second tractor pulls with 1400n [f]. Using the same rules as above (tip-to-tail, scale diagrams), we can add 2-d vectors.
