Consider a femal from species 1 who migrates and mates with males from species 2. Her ofspring will include both male and female hybrid individuals. Thus in the hybrid ofspring, 2/3 imes chromosomes are from species one but only 2/4 autosomes are from species 1. A synapmorphy is a novel trait that a clade of organisms has and that other outside this clade lack. Novelty appeared in the ancestor of the clade meaning ater the clade diverged.
