Precambrian supereon (hadeon eon, archaean eon, proterozoic eon) Phanerozoic eon (paleozoic era, mesozoic era(age of reptiles), cenozoic era (where we live)) It was a huge radiation of mammals following extinction of dinosaurs. It was linked to angiosperms (plants that have flowers and fruit) Seeds are an innovation of gymnosperm and angiosperms; spores (present before seeds) has lower nutrient advantage. Angiosperms have covered seeds, instead of naked seeds. Ferns, cycads, and conifers were most abundant once, however, more angiosperms camme about. Symbiotic relationship with mammals: plants needed pollination, defense, and dispersal, and animals need nectar, fruit, and shelter. Mammals needed to compete (binocular vision, grasping hands and feet, nails on fingers and toes: natural selection began favoring: Enhanced ability to predate on arboreal insects.
