Document Summary
Human proteome- represents the full number of proteins that are expressed by all the hereditary info in our dna (genome). Proteome is much more complex than genome because of rna processing and post-translaional modiicaions. Eukaryotes- segregaion of geneic info, transcripion of dna into rna, and rna processing occur inside the double membraned nuclear envelope. In addiion to all the other membrane enclosed compartments, compartmentalizaion allows for a more intricate control in the regulaion of cellular processes. Mature mrnas exported out of the nucleus, into the cytosol where free or er bound ribosomes facilitate translaion into polypepides. Meanwhile, alternaive splicing and postranslaional modiicaions further contribute to the complexity of the proteome. Proteome composiion can change in response to many factors (internal and external signals) Cells detect changes in environment in many ways, these changes serve as simuli that result in cell responses.
