Foucault shows himself to be more augustinian than freud here. Dissemination, seminar, e. g. words like these relate to seeds. Freud famous for being both an empirical scientist; he was so empirical about what other people were telling him/feeling/thinking regarding sexuality, and how this relates to their neuroses (depression, psychologies, etc. ) Freud also took seriously the ancient myths, to help us think symbolically/culturally/etc about the meaning of what people were saying. He enjoyed looking at topless pictures of his mother br u h. Nursing mothers derive pleasure from feeding their babies, as well. Crosses a line into a different taboo; incest (also pedophilia) One guy thought that erotic relations are highly powerful, and our bodies have strong erotic desires. People do cross these lines all the time, though. We criminalize this, things we call sexual abuse (usually have to do with power relations and violating taboos) Erotic drive towards life vs. death drive are not unrelated.
