Demonstrated how those who are accused are those who are vulnerable or marginalized: usually women responsible for going against the norm perceived as causing con ict between members of society. Material consequences of witchcraft: how if affects the daily life of women, you see the emotional impact, escalating violence in particular communities. Ie. beating them, women serving jail time, women being killed & punished outside of the legal context. Prey upon humans: vampires prey upon human blood speci cally, zombies prey upon human esh. Like witches they are often scapegoats for social or individual crises or problems: in situations of social stress (culturally manifested), we see a spike in the interest of these creatures. !1: if you can pinpoint the source of this crises, the result is the society will return back to norma. Vampiric entities appear in a variety of cultures.
