But i(cid:374) our age of glo(cid:271)alizatio(cid:374) : we see an increase in syncretism in religious and secular domains, called cultural appropriate (cross-cultural borrowing), what is globalization, and why. Globalization: refers to increasing interconnectedness as a result of changes in technology, communications, growth of tourism, transportation, free trade agreements, etc, has accelerated since the 1960s, can have economic and cultural consequences. In terms of culture-leads to increasing rates of cultural appropriation (among other things) Dominant cultures borrows or appropriates from marginalized communities. Promotes racism, eg. blackface, promoting racist forms of ideas of marginalized communities.
