Gender- refers to the roles that people preform in their households and communities and the values and attitudes that people have regarding men and women (cultural category) Gender identity- refers to how people internalize and enact those attitudes and expectations that are associated with there gender category. Gender and sexuality: patriarchal societies often hold double standard. Cultural constructs- are models of behaviour and attitudes that a particular culture transmits to its members. Ideological messages about the roles men and women play in their families/communities may be conveyed through religious beliefs, practices, languages and daily interactions. Gender roles and relations: gender roles include the kind of work typically assigned to men and women, gender relations consist of interactions between men and women, equality amongst gender varies from society.
