** very good text for final exam because when comparing, there are 3 thinkers that talk about socialism (marx, weber and durkheim) so it is very revealing about the sort of thinkers they are. Weber believes that capitalism and socialism will be the same: weber pauses and ask himself are they exactly the same? . He says no, they are not exactly the same because in capitalist society, it is not always the case that power is always in the same set of hands. He says that sometimes in capitalist society, there is a divergence; the people at the top of the state are not necessarily capitalist. Prescription and description: sometimes you get a clear sense that a thinker is describing what is happening. We all look at the world and try to describe it and we have our hopes.
