Identify major issues related to migration for sending and receiving countries and individuals in those countries. Migration - your whole life changes: jobs, school, different world. Someone who migrates - have to fill in paperwork in order to apply to live somewhere. Internal migrations - within the same country. Simultaneously follow both new and old culture (new and old country) Some people break ties from their old country. Population change = natural increase + net migration. P2 - p1 = b - d + in - out. Net migration = population change - natural increase (in - out) - (p2 - p1) - (b - d) = p2 - p1 - b = d (because of the math) Om = number of people who left region during the year (out migrant) P = midyear population of the home region. Does not account for differential risk of migration by age and gender.
