Implicit association task (iat: basic attitudes, can we measure implicit attitudes, cross et al. (2002) Explicit measure: relational-interdependent self-construal (risc) scale: my close relationships are an important reflection of who i am. Explicit and implicit relationship attitudes correlated moderately well: do implicit attitudes predict anything, agnew et al. (1998, self and partner as a cognitive unit , explicit measure of commitment, implicit: list thoughts about romantic relationship. Coded for inclusion of plural pronouns (we, our, us) in their experiences: implicit and explicit correlated well about commitment, high implicit predicted increase in explicit commitment across 6-week period. If you measured the implicit commitment at the beginning, you can predict who will be more committed after 6-weeks based on their thoughts in the beginning.
