Relational insecurity: we;re social beings and we need to feel connected with others Wired in to belong to a group, to be connected closely to loved ones whether family or romantic love or friends we need to have close and group relationships We form expectancies we have social cognitive models and scripts and concepts that help us navigate the social world and help us feel and interact with others and to build our relationships. We also learn negative things sometimes people are mean to us, they abandon us, we lose people and all that get stored in memories we form all these expectancies and beliefs and they shape our sense of security. Even if it doesn t interpersonally, it can be con rmed psychologically we remember events that t with consistency. Many of the things we looked at (attachment, terroretc), at their core, involve some form of insecurity.
