Document Summary
Most copulatory behaviours (mounting intromission ejaculation) depend on dopamine in mpoa: if you block dopamine it acts as though you"ve lesioned the area. Young"s paper: soma=individual differences (age, sex, socialization etc. ) Attractivity: cues produced by female to attract male e. g. chemo-signals (smells female emits during estrus) or vocalization or physiological differences. Proceptive: approaching male in different ways e. g. hopping in front of male. Can be quantified: lordosis (strength, frequency, duration), how many approaches, how much vocalization. Pre vs. copulatory behaviour: behaviours are all intermixed and proceptivity can happen during lordosis etc. People prefer to say approach and copulatory behaviours as categories. Paper on whether women dress up (more grooming) more during ovulation than not. Photograph taken on high fertility day vs. low fertility day (ovulation test to see lh surge or not) Had people judge how much the person was making an effort to look good. High fertility had significant effect: more fashionable nicer showing more skin .
