The extent to which we form general models but also relationship-specific expectancies. Assess people at 2 time points (t1, t2) 70% of participants classified themselves with same attachment level. Based on t1 continuous attachment you can correctly classify 63% of the time at t2. Look at who is changing from t1 to t2. Those who were changing were those who were insecurely attached at t1. Looked at people who were applying for a marriage license. If your relationship is generally going well, your attachment level does not appear to be changing. Only 50% report secure attachment model post breakup. Attachment models appear to be sensitive to life events.
